Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces as well as protecting the law and order of the country, protecting the safety of the KPIs, government and non-government organizations, traffic control, public safety, balance of balance, disaster management, dependence, planned family structure, poverty alleviation, elimination of illiteracy, empowerment of women, National and by-election, various programs such as Eid, worship, Christmas, New Year Age, etc. in a variety of socio-economic development, including the provision of security is an important responsibility. The army was formed on 12 February 1948. Members of Ansar Platoon, commander Abdul Jabbar, were martyred in the language movement of 1952. On 17th April 1971, 12 Ansar members, including Ansar Platoon Commander Yad Ali in Mujib Nagar, provided the "Guard of Honor" to the first temporary head of the country. The first Ansar battalion was formed in 1976. At present, there are 38 battalions, including two women Ansar Battalion. The government gave the force a national flag on March 10, 1998, for a long time contributing extensively to protect the country's independence-sovereignty and law-order and socio-economic development. In recognition of the extraordinary success of sports, the force was awarded "Swadhinata Medal 2004". In 2010, the members of the force received 11 gold medals in the 10th South Asia Sub Games. Ansar and Village Defense Forces have played an important role in protecting the country's law and order. 7272 members of the 16 battalions of the greater battalions are working relentlessly in the Chittagong Hill Tracts with the Bangladesh Army to maintain peace and order. 600 Hill Heights Ansar and 7887 Hill VDP assisted in the passage of the hill areas. In the southwestern districts of the country, 2639 members of the 10 (10) Battalion have been carrying out their distinguished responsibilities in the campaign against terrorism and militancy. In order to improve the socio-economic conditions of the country, various technical and professional training is provided to the members of the force and successful endorsed people are given secured loans through the Ansar-VDP Development Bank. Computer training is provided to about 5000 members of this force through 32 computer training centers each year. The volunteer members of the force have 10% quota facilities in the recruitment of government jobs in the country.
